Learning Spanish to Improve Your Customer Service

The Frederick County Association of REALTORS® is offering a course in conversational Spanish to local REALTORS®. "Some of my clients speak Spanish with some English, some speak only Spanish. For those who speak only Spanish, I have to refer them to other agents. I can't help them sufficiently because of the language barrier. I want to remove the barrier," says Sandy Moreland. This course is taught by Agustin Hernandez, an Army retiree.

Just say no to meth

There's a hidden problem on the rise and explosive only begins to describe it. The number of meth labs seized by federal officials rose from 6,700 in 1999 to more than 9900 in 2004. Hotels, apartments and rental properties are the main hotbeds of this growing problem, according to the Journal of Property Management. And physical damage to these properties is the least of a property manager's worries. Meth lab contaminates pose serious health threats and could be lurking right under your nose -- this epidemic reaches across all borders and certainly does not discriminate. With no national standards regarding the law, property managers may find themselves stuck with the financial, legal and health ramifications.
