WANTED: New National Leaders, Posted by Dick

I often get asked what REALTORS can do to move up to a national leadership position. In the “old” days, if you didn’t already know someone in a national leadership position, it was hard to break into the upper levels of the organization.

That all changed last year when NAR launched our new Leadership Academy. Now, your state and local experience is your key to the national leadership network. The Leadership Academy gives you nine months of hands-on experience at the national level. And, I can tell you that we on the Leadership Team meet and get to know members of the Leadership Academy, and we do put them on our list to fill prominent positions on national committees. We need new ideas and voices to carry us into our Second Century!

So, if you think you have what it takes to lead at the national level, now’s your chance to find out. Applications for the 2009 class are due April 28th – don’t miss this great opportunity. – Dick Gaylord, 2008 NAR President.
