Buying property is only a mouse click away

Imagine finding a property online, immediately getting into your car to check it out, then coming back to your computer to instantly secure an online mortgage, and placing a downpayment via credit card on the place. That is what Ahmed Goheer did in Dubai recently using Simsari.com. The Sydney Morning Herald reports that Simsari.com may be "the first [site] that allows buyers to arrange mortgages online and make credit card deposits on their properties." While many may want to visit the property before they buy, this site may offer a good opportunity for the investment market.

The World's Most Expensive Piece of Land

The Peak, the highest point in Hong Kong, is home to the most expensive piece of land in the world. Buying land there will cost you approximately $5,417 per square foot. ABC News reports that Hong Kong ranks third among the most expensive price per square foot per unit ($2,008 per square foot). London ($3,051 per square foot) and Monaco ($2,673 per square foot) lead the pack. Amenities in luxury properties on The Peak are getting more extravagant. "Private pools, saunas, movie theaters, clubhouses and tennis courts" are in demand.

Indian real estate market expected to grow

The future looks bright for India. There's projected growth in both the retail and residential segments of the real estate sector and commericial space is also in demand thanks to the global outsourcing phenomenon. The number of malls are also projected to grow as are the number of homes being built. The Business Standard reports that the Indian real estate sector " was growing at 30 per cent per annum...." "In the retail space, Knight Frank ranked India fifth in the list of 30 emerging retail markets and predicted 20 per cent growth rate for the organised retail segment by financial year 2012 (FY10). " The retail, commercial and residential segments are all expected "to report strong and sustained growth at least till 2010."
