1. Code of Ethics has been translated into braille;
2. Approved $15M for REALTOR national Credit Union. Anticipate operational by this time next year;
3. Now 298 RCE designees in AE community - includes 51 in 2008 [note: still don't have RCEs from AL, HI, ID, ND, WY]
4. NAR supporting Sentrilock in a new agent direct leasing program for lockboxes;
5. Components of NAR Strategic Plan being reduced to business-card size to carry;

Meeting with incoming NAR President: Dick Gaylord gave these insights into his leadership approach - if there are concerns, communicate directly with him; he's going to solve problems; culture needs to continuously evolve to ensure members feel connected; focus will be on getting things done - action.

Miracle in the Desert

Dubai and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), have developed as major hubs for real estate development in the Middle East. These cities were the subject of a Global Real Estate Theater presentation Thursday afternoon, led by a representative of Sherwoods Independent Property Consultants.

Stop Ego Marketing

Jerry Rossi—self-described thought artist, edutainer, lifestyle motivator, and bon vivant—gave a rousing talk Thursday morning on effective marketing versus ego marketing to today's consumer. His central theme was this: Consumers want information and they want it now. Deny them this and you're letting your ego drive your marketing, and your consumer will move on.
