I arrived Friday noon and left New Orleans Monday afternoon after spending all my time attending the excellent seminars, networking with REALTORS and the international exhibitors alike. I must have seen every booth in the Expo hall - in summary - I was so busy that I didn't take time out to play or see the sites. I can come back another time for that. I felt privileged to have the opportunity to hear the former presidents speak with such humor and wit. It was delightful to hear Mrs. Fields' enthusiastic presentation, which closed the convention on an energetic, positive, and can do note. This was the first time I attended this conference (having had my license only 2 years) but not the last.

I loved what I was able to attend...walking with a cane made it impossible to attend most sessions ... the center was so large and required so much walking...I could not hold up. We stood in line to see Pres. Bush & Clinton for 2 hours. So I could not go to Bourbon St. OR to the Harry Connick concert as it was handled the same way...too bad...but I was able to see some of the expo.hall. wonderful...the point is...anyone with ANY walking or standing problems needs to be alerted so they can request special help.

This was my first opportunity to attend a national convention. I am so thankful to the decisionmakers that decided on New Orleans for this meeting and stayed with it after the storm hit. The people of the city were fantastic. They were so appreciative of our being there and did the very best they could with what they had. By far for me the opportunity to give back to this rich cultural city was what I took away from 4 days in New Orleans. Our first full day was spent in the Musician's Village building walls. Something I thought I couldn't do. We were four, working together which included my coworker and a women from New York state with her son. Finally, our schedule included classes, the expo, the Presidents presentation, a tour of called "Moss and Magnolia" and finally Harry's concert! Wow! What a together program. Thank you NAR!
One footnote: It was sad to see the realtors who stood in the long lines for the President's and the concert only to be butted into by those realtors who felt they didn't need to stand as long as others. One women who was with us in line from New York City commented that there they have line police. Do we need this? What kind of message are those realtors sending? Shame on you!
